Koen joined Compass in 2017 and is responsible for all of our Scolarest restaurants.

"I started at Compass Group to develop the Steamplicity concept. Then I became Manager and, since 2018, I am Director of the Scolarest segment. We have kitchens in more than sixty schools in Belgium.

For kindergartens and primary schools, we need to provide a balanced meal while meeting current government standards. While for high school and higher education, students have more freedom, so we can create a dining experience similar to Eurest's, with different menus and inspirations.  

Among the main tasks, I ensure the safety of employees, customer satisfaction and the profitability of our business. The environment has always been at the heart of our values. We have been touched by the efforts of students in the climate marches, which is why we want to strengthen sustainable policy in our school kitchens. In particular, we try to offer less meat, 100 g instead of 150 g, a quantity validated by our dieticians. I can also mention the Good Food label obtained for the cuisine of the International School of Brussels and the EnergIQ project which allows us to raise awareness among students about the importance of healthy eating."
