Created by Brussels Environment, the "Good Food" label supports and guides restaurants that are involved in a sustainable approach. The criteria for this label have been defined based on the main principles of the Good Food strategy: the consumption of local and seasonal products, food produced with respect for the planet, alternatives to animal proteins, not to forget the reduction of food waste.

Good Food at ISB

Franco Golisano, from the International School of Brussels, explains: "We are more than proud to have obtained Two Forks for the Good Food label. However, our work goes back much further, we have been choosing local and seasonal products for more than 10 years. We buy from Belgian producers. So, we didn't have to make a big effort because we already had several organic certifications. We concentrated on certain points such as recycling and compost. Our actions in the ISB canteen were already on the right track! »

Beyond the Two Forks of Good Food label

Aligning with the label's criteria is not enough. At Compass Group, we want to raise awareness among consumers of all ages. We noticed at ISB that children are very enthusiastic about helping us to make our canteen more sustainable. We have reduced plastic waste and provide drink dispensers, with reusable cups. At the same time, we have eliminated soft drinks and replaced them with healthier alternatives.

Franco continues, "I'm always on the lookout for new and improved products. I look for ideas, I'm very attentive to food restrictions and allergies, in order to provide adequate solutions. Sometimes parents are worried about their child being allergic to milk or not eating meat, for example. The good news? At Compass Group, we constantly offer lactose-free, gluten-free and vegetarian alternatives."

Ensuring a better future

We assure you that we are always ready to take up challenges that improve the health and well-being of the people who come to enjoy the meals in our dining areas. Our second objective is to offer sustainable solutions that benefit the consumer and the environment. The Good Food label thus enables us to kill two birds with one stone, and is a fine proof of our actions. Discover the labels of our kitchens:
