Leading event and hospitality caterers Gourmet Invent and Amalthea will enter into a strong partnership as from April. Both companies have been a fixture in the top 5 Belgian caterers for years. With more than 75 years of experience, the partnership offers many new opportunities for the future.
The activities of top caterers Gourmet Invent and Amalthea fit together seamlessly. Geographically, the new and far-reaching cooperation allows the two partners to serve the whole of Flanders and Brussels. At the same time, it creates opportunities to focus even more on the sports & leisure segment in Belgium, an activity where Compass Group is strong internationally and Gourmet Invent has a solid reputation on a national level.

About Amalthea
For over 35 years, the Antwerp family business Amalthea has been providing top catering at a wide range of events. Mainly B2B, but certainly also B2C. Amalthea is best known for VIP catering at the Antwerp Sportpaleis and the Lotto Arena. Amalthea is also the partner of choice of the Antwerp Giants, the European Open Tennis, the finals of the Cups of Belgium Basket and Volleyball.
In 2017, Amalthea opened a new, 1350 m² production space in Wijnegem, operating according to the most recent and sustainable techniques.
With approximately 15 permanent employees, the company has a stable annual turnover of around 4 million euros.
About Gourmet Invent
Gourmet Invent has been in the top 3 in the Belgian catering world for years. The company has over 30 years of experience and an excellent reputation in the field of private events, hospitality catering and corporate events. It is best known as the in-house caterer of Waregem koerse, Jumping Mechelen, the Ghelamco Arena (AA Gent), the Jan Breydelstadion (Club Brugge), the Regenboogstadion (Zulte Waregem) and the Bosuilstadion (Royal Antwerp FC). It also collaborates with some seventy partner locations throughout Belgium, including ICC Gent, Hippologgia, Brussels Expo and Flanders Expo.
Gourmet Invent recently moved (January 2021) to a brand new production site in Nazareth, near Ghent. The company employes 60 staff and has an annual turnover of 13 million euros.
